Ayurvedic View of Constipation
In Ayurveda, constipation known as “Vibandha”is primarily linked to an imbalance of the “Vata doshas”. Vata dosha, being responsible for movement and mobility, plays a crucial role in regulating peristaltic movements ,which propel stool through the colon for elimination .When Vata becomes imbalanced, it can lead to irregular and weakened peristaltic movements, causing the stool to become dry and hard, leading to constipation.
